  1. Confession- I enjoyed a piece of sugar free gum on Friday… I was trying to avoid the fruit and nuts at my desk. Not sure it was a better choice, but it prevented my snacking.

Random note- I found this quote in a newspaper article from June 21, 1895:
“Don’t chew gum. Exercise your jaws in private.”

    Happy unseasonably warm Monday!

Confession…I had a slice of pizza during the Giants/49ers game yesterday with 4 wings. Compared to what I used to do on a day like that (almost a whole pizza and eating wings until I was unconscious), I say it was a pretty successful day.

no cheats besides steak n shake on friday night 🙂 back at the cabin in martinsville today, gonna cook up some pork cilantro tacos and get some other foods ready. the best recipe from the weekend was greek meatballs, put some dates in there, best thing ever. ate the leftovers in my eggs this morning, even better. my little 11 month old is starting to walk!

I had some feta cheese on a salad this weekend. I have never enjoyed a salad so much.

cheat on Saturday night for a school fundraiser ( FYI : Yats + Beer = cheat), and on Sunday I had a beer and peanuts during the NE game. all that being said (much like Kevin above), a far cry from a normal weekend, and I do think I felt the side effects of my excursions.

I was catching a lot of grief for turning down my sister’s made from scratch lasagna this wknd so I indulged and ate a piece of garlic bread as well, but I drew the line at the wine – small victory. Also woke up Sunday morning and had a couple glasses of orange juice. :/

That is the most I have cheated on any Paleo challenge and I feel like I have opened the flood gates… it’s all I can do to not buy a Polar Pop and Valentine’s candy everytime I turn around. I’m excited for tonight’s WOD so I can be reminded how much better I feel when I eat Paleo.

First, I want to say everyone’s doing a great job! Keep up the good work.

Last Tuesday I cheated with Godiva chocolate. It was screaming my name, I swear. And I thought I was just going to have one out of the eight piece box but ended up eating the whole box! Judgment free zone people! Other than that, I’m still going strong.

Moose, Yats sounds so good! Eileen, really? Steak n Shake. Please tell me you got a Frisco Melt and Cheese Fries.

I had a long walk on the dark side this weekend…. I put a Slenda in my coffee;) even thought in making it through I find myself getting pretty pissed that I can’t eat certain things… Oh well, I will live!!

    Gum, really Merrit. 😉

We all need to be more like Merrit!

I indulged in a piece of cake on Saturday. And I have had 1 glass of wine/wk. I am going to continue my wine drinking, but not my cake eating.

    This is my poem
I need a jeroboam (had to “rhymes” with, and it fits the cake)

No cheats for the Gardners. I think it’s easier to hold each other accountable when we’re always eating together. We’ve never had a weak moment at the same time. When I talk about ice cream, Eric shuts me down. When Eric dreams of Burger King and gum, I shut him down. Marriage: built-in Paleo accountability:)

I’m still feeling blah today. Run down, sore, exhausted…stupid adrenal glands and TMJ. Up to this point, Crossfit WODs and Paleo have done nothing but help me feel a million times better. The past two days have been brutal for my body. I just hope I haven’t built up some sort of tolerance to WODs and healthy eating. Not that I’m dominating the WODs, but rather that it’s not giving me the same pump up that it used to. Let’s hope not!

Saturday sounds like a great time!:)

Yay for potential sample of Paleo food on Saturday. I am doing lots of brainstorming to figure out what to bring. So many options!

Tonight I had the most wonderful treat- a fantastically ripe avocado! Oh it is such a great moment to slice open an avocado and see the vibrant green color!
